DC Young Fly is a true jack of all trades. You may have seen him on Nick Cannon’s “Wild ‘N Out” or opening for Chris Brown on his world tours or hosting MTV’s recent “TRL” revival series. Whether he’s rapping, acting, hosting, singing, telling jokes, or simply being himself, he is an overall entertainer.

In honor of the star being featured in REVOLT Summit x AT&T’s “The Writer’s Block: Comedy Writing” workshop on the next Summit Saturday (Oct. 10), REVOLT has compiled seven facts you may not have known about DC.
1. DC Young Fly got his start on the social media app Vine
Nowadays, there’s a good percentage of musicians and entertainers who got their big break on Vine. With DC’s hilarious nature, he thrived. Of course, he also exercised his roasting talents.
2. DC Young Fly starred in How High 2 alongside Lil Yachty
The real stoners can appreciate the greatness that arrived with How High, a 2001 film that starred Method Man and Redman. Almost two decades later, the sequel would have big shoes to fill with DC Young Fly actually stepping in with Lil Yachty.
3. He’s a part of 85 South Comedy group
85 South Comedy Group is composed of fellow Atlanta comedians Clayton English, Karlous Miller, and DC himself. Together, the three talk culture and comedy every single week to their 1.49 million subscribers on Instagram. They’re most recent episode saw guest star Iman Shumpert.
4. DC is a musician
If you love R&B, there’s no way you won’t vibe to DC Young Fly’s music. He injects real-life experiences to his growing fanbase through his tracks. Most recently, he released his new single “Leave Me.” He also plays the drums and has recorded over eight projects.
5. DC is a father to two beautiful kids
Juggling different careers and still making time for family is always a beautiful thing. Somehow, DC manages to prioritize accordingly. He has two beautiful children with girlfriend Jacky Oh, who is also a social media maven and YouTuber. Their kids even have their own Instagrams.

When you have a huge following — or a following in general — you have people watching your every move. DC is an example of someone who knows his reach and uses his voice for the greater good. During the height of the George Floyd protests, DC did his part in sharing his thoughts on the Black Lives Matter movement. Yeah he’s funny, but he’s passionate and cares about humanity, as well.
