Lil Durk just hit his fans with a back to back track release today, the first offering being “Area Codes” with Ty Dolla $ign, and now “Killer” with YNW Melly. On his verse, Melly goes in and spits a raw verse about betrayal:

“These n****s talkin’ sh*t, ain’t put they people on. You know what time it is, you know we equal dawg. I thought you was gon’ ride, but baby, not at all. I can’t believe what you had did, you really scarred a n****a, hurt me to the end. The way I am, the way I feel, like it ain’t two minute I can keep it real.”

A big win came earlier this year for Durk with his guest verse on Drake’s “Laugh Now Cry Later” song and widely shared music video, which grabbed the No. 2 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the Canadian Hot 100. Just this week, he joined Queen Naija for her new song “Lie To Me.” Lil Durk dropped his project Just Cause Y’all Waited 2 (Deluxe), which saw features from Lil Baby, Gunna, Polo G, and G Herbo. He also released his first single since the project “The Voice” at the top of last month and has has been busy dishing out assists as well, appearing on J.I.’s “Painless 2” and BIA’s “Same Hands.”

In a previous interview with REVOLT, Lil Durk opened up about how music is a coping mechanism for him:

“That’s why I go to the studio a lot. There’s stuff I have to get off my chest through the microphone rather than through somebody else. A one-on-one talk would be different because at the end of the day, this is a stranger. But, I can go to the studio and speak my mind knowing I have fans who are going to listen.”
