Flo Milli is owning her moment. Fresh off the release of her attention-garnering Ho, Why Is You Here? project, the Alabama rap sensation returns with a double whammy: a new combo visual for both her songs “Send The Addy” and “May I.” Prior to this latest release was her video for “Weak,” which is produced by J. White Did It and samples the classic SMV single of the same name.
Both videos represent her Southern confidence loud and proud, with flashy low-rider-filled parking lots and high-rise boots. Flo lets off her rapid fire bars in “May I” while referencing some cultural icons like 2 Live Crew and Stevie Wonder back to back, and their musical work (As Nasty As They Wanna Be and “Do I Do,” respectively):
“Numbers goin’ up, breakin’ the charts on a billion. If you ain’t lovin’, now you do times two. I’m wit’ your daddy gettin’ nasty like the 2 Live Crew. Word to Stevie, they can’t see me like Do I Do. And if you cross me, I won’t hesitate to shit on you.”
Earlier this year, REVOLT honored Flo Milli as an artist to watch this year, giving props to the RaeSam-produced cut “In The Party” and describing the now-20 year old’s sound as “youthful, yet hardcore.” A recent interview puts into perspective perfectly how Flo Milli’s unshakable confidence is what allows her to keep striving upwards, as she says she had no doubt of her ability to reach stardom one day:
“I knew I was going to be great, and my mom knew I was going to be great, so I just always went after my heart and my passion, and I think that’s why a lot of people feel me because I’m not afraid of anything.”
