It is always a great pleasure to hear new artists emerge in the industry — especially in the R&B realm. With a multitude of talented superstars like Jhene Aiko, Kehlani, H.E.R., SZA, and more doing their due diligence for humanity, there’s even more upcoming stars that are strategically paving their way to cement their own legacy. The latest talent to emerge to the forefront goes by the name of Kaylee Ameri.

The 21-year-old phenomenon is on a quick rise to stardom with the release of her brand new single “Give It Up” and she should most certainly not be overlooked.

Like many upcoming artists these days, Kaylee utilized her social media platform (Twitter) to effectively promote the new single as she plugged the single under a viral tweet made by REVOLT’s own DJ First Class. Normally, the success rate for this type of promotion isn’t as high as actually paying for (proper) promotion, but it didn’t take long for the snippet video to catch the eyes and ears of First Class. After just one retweet, Kaylee’s self promotion started to generate numbers very quickly, gaining a healthy number of new fans organically — which quickly converted into streams and views respectively.

In a recent conversation with DJ First Class, the New Jersey bred artist shared with him what she’s learned in the past 4 years as a developing artist:

“In these last 4 years i’ve learned that the love and motivation that you have for yourself for your passions and dreams absolutely must be consistent and true. It’s so important to check in with yourself, to know that mentally, you’re ok to move forward. You cannot be living a dream from somebody else. You must also know that a lot of people are not who they seem, and so it’s really important to have a solid group of people around you to help you stay true and stay grounded. Support is critical, it’s vital to what you’re doing. With an ounce of it, you can go miles. Everyday is a chance to invent a new strategy, observe other artists thru their music, to pull inspiration from everyday life. Nothing in this world will be handed to you, you must be ambitious and determined. You will get knocked so many times, through other people and within yourself you’ll literally feel like you’re not enough. But, that isn’t true. That’s not a voice to pay mind to.”

“Give It Up” is an infectious, smooth record that you’re most likely to have on repeat. Sampling the classic Brandy & Monica record “The Boy Is Mine,” Kaylee did exactly what needed to be done! We’re sure that the young star will have more for us sooner than later.
