President Donald Trump’s former attorney, Michael Cohen, has plenty of stories to tell and he’s spilling what he knows in his new tell-all book, “Disloyal: A Memoir,” including the fact that the current president shelled out money to hire a Barack Obama look-alike just so that he could pretend to fire him.
The bizarre act allegedly happened before Trump became president. According to CNN, Cohen says that Trump had the “Faux-Bama” participate in a video so that he could “ritualistically” belittle the first Black president. During this time, Trump was also publicly questioning Obama’s birthplace and says that he referred to Obama as “a Manchurian candidate” in private.
When Obama won the 2008 presidential election, Cohen said that Trump was blatantly racist. “Tell me one country run by a Black person that isn’t a shithole,” Trump said according to Cohen.
CNN, who obtained a copy of the memoir ahead of its release, reports that even though the actor who played the former president was not named in the book, Cohen does share a photograph of the actor sitting with Trump at a desk.
Furthermore, Cohen goes on to describe Trump as “a cheat, a liar, a fraud, a bully, a racist, a predator, a con man.” He says that Trump. is someone who looks up to Russian president Vladimir Putin and looks down on his voter base.
The White House has since responded to the unveiled excerpts from Cohen’s book and are accusing the former attorney of trying to make a profit off the situation.
In a statement to CNN, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said, “Michael Cohen is a disgraced felon and disbarred lawyer, who lied to Congress. He has lost all credibility, and it’s unsurprising to see his latest attempt to profit off of lies.”
In 2018, Cohen admitted to lying in court and plead guilty to campaign finance violations, tax fraud, and bank fraud. He was released from prison early this year due to Coronavirus concerns.
