Back in June, Run The Jewels delivered their fourth studio LP RTJ4, which sees 11 tracks from the duo and additional assistance from Greg Nice, DJ Premier, Pharrell Williams, Zack de la Rocha, Josh Homme, and more. This past weekend, Killer Mike and El-P released a new visual from the project for “out of sight,” which features 2 Chainz and sees El-P joined by Wilder Zoby and Little Shalimar on the production end and takes from The D.O.C.’s classic 80’s hit “It’s Funky Enough.” As with the rest of the album, the subject matter and lyrics stay socially-charged and aggressive, creating the perfect soundtrack to the battles that many of us in this country are dealing with right now:
“We the motivating, devastating, captivating, Ghost and Rae relating product of the f***in’ ‘80s, coke dealin’ babies, never regulating, bag accumulating, it would not be overstating to say they are underrating…/”
The video is directed by Ninian Doff and stars the cast of the Amazon Prime film Get Duked!, which happened to premiere on the same day. Said cast — consisting of Lewis Gribben, Samuel Bottomly, Rian Gordon, and Viraj Juneja can be seen breaking into a massive museum, smoking and roaming the halls as Run The Jewels and 2 Chainz come to life in the paintings that surround them. After some hijinks, the thieves manage to make off with some expensive items.
Press play on the visual for “out of sight” below. Those interested in Get Duked! can also see it’s official trailer, as well as a brief synopsis of what fans can expect:
“Dean, Duncan and DJ Beatroot are teenage pals from Glasgow who embark on the character-building camping trip … the trio finds themselves paired with straight-laced Ian, a fellow camper determined to play by the rules. After veering off-path into remote farmland that’s worlds away from their urban comfort zone, the boys find themselves hunted down by a shadowy force hell-bent on extinguishing their futures.”
