Back on the stoner’s annual holiday, Wiz Khalifa unveiled a surprise EP for his fans titled The Saga Of Wiz Khalifa, which sees seven new tracks from the Pittsburgh star and collaborations with Mustard, Megan Thee Stallion, Tyga, K CAMP, Logic, and more. This week, he drops off a new visual from the project for “Still Wiz,” which is produced by Paul Cabbin, Tee Romano, and Hitmaka and takes inspiration from the classic Dr. Dre cut “Still D.R.E.”:
“I’m still Wiz, n***as got me in that mood, how they hatin’ when they know that I’m that dude?/
I hear they hatin’ ‘cause they know I got the juice, uh-huh, they like ooh, they watchin’ how I move/
Motherf***ers, they be actin’ like we cool, f*** you thought this was? N***a, I ain’t no fool/
Gas in my joint, what you smokin’ don’t flatter me, my n***as got my back, ain’t no need for a battery/”
As expected for a summer-ready track like this, the accompanying video shows Wiz and Taylor Gang crony Ty Dolla $ign living it up at a colorful house party, complete with women, drinks, cars, and — of course — plenty of cannabis to smoke. It’s the kind of party that’s become more fantasy than anything else thanks to the still ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
In a recent interview with the REVOLT TV series “Wow Dats Crzy,” Wiz Khalifa spoke on why he doesn’t feel he’d be the best pick for the now hugely popular VERZUZ battles:
“I think the real purpose of the battles is to educate people and show them things that they didn’t know about the artist…that comes with time and experience in the game… Although I do have a lot of that, I feel like I can do more before I go into a battle to try and educate people on Wiz Khalifa.”
Press play on “Still Wiz” below, along with another recent drop from Wiz Khalifa titled “Smoke Screen.”
