On Saturday (June 20), news broke that Aaron Glee Jr. confessed to the murder and kidnapping of Black Lives Matter activist Oluwatoyin Salau.

According to newly released court documents obtained by USA Today, “Glee waived his right to remain silent” and detailed his involvement in the killings of Salau and a 75-year-old woman named Victoria Sims.

During his account, Glee confessed to raping Salau and keeping her prisoner. On June 13, Tallahassee police discovered the location of both women after they traced Sims’ cellphone to the address in which he was staying.

By the time authorities arrived at the scene, Glee traveled to West Palm Beach and provided a confession at Orlando hospital. “While at the hospital, Glee had made voluntary admissions to officers guarding him that he had murdered two women in Tallahassee,” the report said. “He would also place a telephone call to his mother and make these same admissions.”

“Glee would admit in detail that on different dates, he had kidnapped and murdered both (Salau) and Sims,” the report continued. “That footage also demonstrated that she and Glee did engage in an extended conversation while seated on a bench at the bus stop. At approximately 7:07 p.m., a white Toyota, the same make and model of the one owned by Sims, arrived in the area of the bus stop. Glee and (Salau) departed in that Toyota moments later.”

At the moment, Glee is facing two counts each of murder and kidnapping and one count of sexual assault. On Saturday (June 20), he had his first virtual court appearance and was ordered to be held without bail. “There are no conditions that can adequately protect the public, no conditions that could ensure Mr. Glee’s future appearance,” Chief Circuit Judge Jonathan Sjostrom said. “The probable cause itself demonstrates the possibility of significant flight.”
