For the past month, Smokepurpp has been promoting his second studio album Florida Jit and fans across the globe were eager to find out a release date. When he announced the release on May 29, his fane base went into a frenzy. The young Florida rapper has his sights set on making the world remember his name with his new release and it’s safe to say, he’s on the right path. If you’re a Florida native, this a most certainly a great look for your part of the south so you should be proud! He’s not letting up any time soon and Florida Jit is sonic proof of this assertion.
At some point in time, you’ve more than likely came across many headlines of Smokepurpp with his close rapper friend Lil Pump — one of their talents is getting the world to talk. Purpp might seem like this young, wild rapper, but he’s indeed more than that and he shows it throughout Florida Jit.
Laced with 17 tracks, Smokepurpp calls on a few of his Florida comrades to contribute to the album — Lil Pump, Denzel Curry and none other than Rick Ross. He also managed to secure some solid features from upcoming stars Jack Harlow and Young Nudy. He actually went into detail about how he reconnected with Rozay for Florida Jit:
I met Rick Ross— Pump had a song on his album, the self-titled one. That was me, him, and Rick Ross. “Pinky Ring.” We made that song and we shot the video and the video had never even came out. I never talked to him since then, and being able to link back up with him, that’s cool because we’re from the same city. I’m saying no more than ten blocks away. He been giving me the stamp in my city, and the key to the city is next, watch.
After listening to the album, it’s quite likely that you’ll understand him a lot more and see how this is a different avenue for him. Lend your ears below and let us know what you think!
