DeJ Loaf is probably one of the most slept on artists of her generation. Breaking through the mold with her single “Try Me” in 2014, the Detroit talent has been crafting versatile tracks over the past several years. Today, she liberates a new EP titled No Saint, which contains four new tracks — including the opener of the same name, which sees production from Jason Vaughan and sees DeJ keeping things real about herself as a human being.

“I’m no saint, but I’m Saint Laurent steppin’, I’ll make my own way, I don’t need no favors, you can’t be my friend, and my hater…/”

In addition to the aforementioned, No Saint also features production from Derrick Shorter, Buddah Bless, and Zaytoven. The project also follows last week’s four track EP It’s A Set Up!, which hopefully signals a series of releases from DeJ Loaf in the coming weeks. Prior to that, she released the single “Bubbly” in February, which was said to be taken from the forthcoming sequel to 2014’s Sell Sole.

Prior to It’s A Set Up!, DeJ Loaf blessed her fans with the EPs …And See That’s the Thing (which charted within the top 50 of the Billboard 200 its first week) and ‘Go DeJ Go’ Vol. 1 in 2015 and 2018, respectively. The latter of the two releases also signaled her independence following her break from Columbia Records. She also used that time to release the mixtapes All Jokes Aside and F*** A Friend Zone with Jacquees.

In addition to the Gold plaque-earning “Try Me,” DeJ Loaf also saw significant success with “Back Up,” which features fellow Detroit star Big Sean and earned DeJ the highly coveted Platinum certification. She also joined Sean, Trick-Trick, Danny Brown, Royce Da 5’9, and Eminem on the Motor City posse cut “Detroit Vs. Everybody.”
