Since the start of his career back in 2007, Ace Hood has been poised for greatness within the industry and he solidified his place in Hip Hop early on. Delivering a vast amount of classic mixtapes with his Body Bag, Starvation and The Statement series over the years, Ace Hood has (and rightfully so) definitely been in the talks of the mixtape immortals. With each tape filled with hunger, aggression and passion in every bar, the Broward County rapper has proved time and time again that he’s a lyrical force that shouldn’t be reckoned with. Aside from the tapes, his notable studio albums play a huge part in his career as well. Today, Ace Hood brings forth his fifth album to the forefront — Mr. Hood.
Serving as the follow up to his latest EP Self Preservation, Mr. Hood is a mantra in itself. If you’ve been a fan of Ace Hood from the beginning, it’s easy to see how this album further molds lucrativeness at this stage in his life. Not only is it the follow up to his latest EP, it is the first studio album to surface since his album Trials & Tribulations back in 2013.
Most people would claim that he’s been absent, but that’s not true. He’s just been subtly active on the music scene — releasing the fifth installment of his Body Bag series which dropped in 2019. Mr. Hood is laced with 14 records and he tags on a few people to assist with guest features: Slim Diesel, Alexdynamix & O.Z., and Jacquees.
We recently spoke with Ace Hood about him finding happiness outside of music and how his wife helped him with the journey. Without question, it’s a beautiful sight to see that he possesses the one true gift that everyone should ultimately have, but unfortunately they don’t — HAPPINESS. Despite any shortcomings through his career, Ace Hood knows the meaning of the phrase “Timing is everything” and Mr. Hood is indeed, right on time.
