With a great amount of work being released since the start of his career in 2014, Quality Control artist Lil Yachty has managed to stay relevant through recent years. Through all of his features to his hit singles, the fans take a keen interest in his Lil Boat album series more than anything. Today, Yachty continues his streak with the release of his fourth studio album Lil Boat 3. With his Earl On The Beat-produced standout single “Oprah’s Bank Account” (featuring Drake and DaBaby) intact, it’s inevitable that this alone will play a part in the album’s success numbers wise.

With Lil Boat 3 weighing in at 19 records, this makes it the longest running album of the Lil Boat trilogy. With Lil Boat serving more as the breakout album with the melodic stylings, Lil Boat 2 was more geared toward the more lyrical and flow oriented side of Yachty. Through the duration of his career so far, the 22-year-old has been vocal about feeling like he’s slept on. Throughout Lil Boat 3, it’s clear that he wants all doubters and naysayers to finally put some respect on his name. Yachty has proven himself to be a thorough captain and this album is a key indicator of what the QC artist is truly capable of.
On Thanksgiving 2019 in a lengthy Instagram post, Lil Yachty detailed how the death of his grandmother affected him, restructuring his headspace and how well Lil Boat 3 was coming together:
When I lost my grandmother, I decided to take time away from social media and to revisit some of my actual life goals. I also took this time to re-assess my values and my priorities in life; materialistic things have been low on this list. I have been recording so much music… so many different vibes! I’ve been so nervous about this project, but I am excited because it has all come together very well.
