Currently, N.O.R.E. is taking over the podcast world with his “Drink Champs” series, which has created some major hip hop moments with everyone from Lil Wayne to REVOLT TV’s own Sean “Diddy” Combs. Recently, he’s even found himself in a bit of controversy following a tense sit-down with former basketball player Lamar Odom, which he’s since defended via an explanation to Page Six.
With that said, the New York legend is still very much an artist in his own right — earlier this month, he teamed up with producer collective J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League for the new release Patio Furniture. The EP offering comes with five tracks and additional appearances from Garren Edwards, R.L., Dave East, Emanny, and Raekwon.
Added to the EP comes a short film titled “Patio Furniture In Motion,” which comes courtesy of “Drink Champs” producer Ras Kev and contains the entire EP in one clip. Viewers can see a mixture of footage from the podcast, as well as in-studio and in-home footage of N.O.R.E. back in emcee mode, complete with various cameos to boot.
During a recent interview with “The Breakfast Club,” N.O.R.E. spoke on how the album came together:
Me and J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, we’ve never been in the studio together, they just kept sending me records… and I kept recording them one by one… so I figured, you know what? This is the perfect time, this is a quarantine album, this is a social distance album anyway. So I figured this is the best time, you know, everyone’s home and all the material was done. I went in, filmed five videos at my own place… me and one camera guy, and that’s it. I gotta keep making music, I gotta keep doing this, this is something that’s my first love.
