Young Thug has partnered with Entertainment 300 to host a fan competition in honor of his debut mixtape Barter 6’s five-year anniversary. Thugger and the record label have challenged fans to recreate the 2015 tape’s cover art for a chance to win $5,000.
“In celebration of the 5th anniversary, we invite fans to re-create the classic cover at home,” a press release states. “There are no restrictions on what the submissions can be as long as you create dope sh*t.”
According to the release, Thug will choose the winner himself and showcase the best recreation on his social media. Those who would like to enter can post their entries online using the hashtags #Barter6ArtChallenge, #Barter6, #300Creates, #MusicHeals and #Contest. Entries can also be emailed to [email protected]. The contest will end on April 30.
The challenge is part of a new series hosted by Entertainment 300 called “300 Creates.” According to the release, the label will be hosting weekly competitions for chances to win prizes, money and recognition from their artists.
“This initiative is intended to inspire a world of innovators to illustrate, design and put context around life, art, music, film and all sports as we know it today. Also, to celebrate the opportunity of tomorrow,” 300 Entertainment CEO and Co-Founder Kevin Liles said in a statement. “We will do this by engaging all of you around the globe who choose to create and engage with us. What better partner and label to kick it off with than Young Thug and Young Stoner Life Records. I look forward to everyone joining, engaging and most importantly creating with us.”
Thug’s Barter 6 included collaborations with Birdman, Duke, T.I., Boosie Badazz, Young Dolph, Yak Gotti and Jacquees. Widely considered to be the Atlanta rapper’s breakout project, Barter 6 was co-produced by Wheezy and London On Da Track and peaked at No. 22 on the Billboard 200.
