Jeezy is back like he never left. TIDAL previously announced that he will be releasing a surprise album at midnight on Friday (March 27) and the streaming service was right. The project is titled Twenty /20 Pyrex Vision and was produced by Shawty Red over the course of two days. The album’s title is a reference to a bar from the 2014 song “Seen It All” featuring Jay-Z.
During his conversation with TIDAL’s Chief Content Officer Elliott Wilson, Jeezy compared himself to motivational speaker Tony Robbins and with this surprise record dropping, the streets will be motivated once again. His last project was 2019’s TM104: The Legend of the Snowman.
A man of the people, he had to feed the streets. A wise man once said that real gangstas move in silence, so it’s no wonder people didn’t hear about this one coming until it was nearly here.
For this album, Jeezy decided to continue to deliver his message of thug motivation, only this time, the world is in a crisis. Earlier this month, he self-quarantined himself to encourage his fans to visualize what the world would look like once it emerges from the current global pandemic that is Coronavirus.
A man of many hustles, Jeezy seems like a good person to confide in. He shared his number and asked people to text him their ideas on how to make the best of current circumstances and if enough did, he would release some exclusive content he made with Charlamagne Tha God. A mere week later and it seems that the Snowman isn’t done sharing.
While details about this project were initially limited, we definitely know now that it knocks thanks to Shawty Red’s Grammy-nominated signature trap sound. The two artists previously collaborated before on 2008’s “Who Dat” off of The Recession. Together, they’ve gotten us through tough times and are back to do it again.
