Rihanna is treating her fans to new music.
On Thursday (March 26), PARTYNEXTDOOR revealed the tracklist to his upcoming album, PARTYMOBILE. PND also previewed a snippet of the track on Snapchat. In the short clip, Rihanna’s vocals could be heard over an engrossing beat.
This isn’t the first time that the bad gyal and PND have joined forces. In the past, she and the Toronto native worked together on tracks such as “Work,” “Sex With Me” and “Wild Thoughts.”
For the last year, fans have consistently wondered when Rihanna would be dropping her ninth studio album. The Fenty Beauty creator has not dropped new music since her 2017 collaboration with N.E.R.D on the single “Lemon.”
During an interview with T magazine, Rihanna revealed that her upcoming project would be reggae-infused. She also confessed that her fans inspired the name of her ninth LP. “It’s just been R9 thanks to the Navy. I’m about to call it that probably ‘cause they have haunted me with this ‘R9, R9, when is R9 coming out?’” she said. “How will I accept another name after that’s been burned into my skull?”
In addition to working with PND and finishing up her album, Rihanna is also giving back. On March 21, REVOLT TV reported that she offered to purchase $700,000 worth of ventilators for Barbados in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Around the same time, it was reported that Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation “donated $5 million to several organizations around the world.” The executive director of the Clara Lionel Foundation explained the severity of the coronavirus in a statement. “Never has it been more important or urgent to protect and prepare marginalized and underserved communities — those who will be hit hardest by this pandemic,” the statement read.
