Snoh Aalegra has officially inked a recording deal with JAY-Z’s Roc Nation. No I.D.’s ARTium Recordings and the Iranian-Swedish singer, who recently teamed up with Pharrell for her “Whoa (Remix),” have reportedly agreed to a partnership deal with the label.
The official Roc Nation Twitter account shared the announcement on Monday (March 9).
“Congratulations to [Snoh Aalegra] on your #1 at Urban AC Radio and welcome to the Roc Nation family!” the post read.
Aalegra recently earned her first No. 1 single on the Urban Adult Contemporary radio chart with “I Want You Around,” which landed on her 2019 LP, -Ugh, those feels again. The song overtook Khalid’s “Talk,” Wale and Jeremih’s “On Chill” and Chris Brown and Drake’s “No Guidance” earlier this week. Aalegra celebrated the accomplishment on Monday (March 9).
“Look at God,” she wrote on Instagram. “My first No. 1. THANK YOU.”
However, as of Tuesday (March 10), Brown and Drake’s “No Guidance” is back to No. 1, according to MediaBase.
-Ugh, those feels again served as Aalegra’s sophomore project and as a follow-up to her critically acclaimed debut effort Feels, which she released back in 2017.
Along with the newly signed Roc Nation deal, the singer has also announced an upcoming string of tour dates.
“-Ugh, a tour again” kicks off next week (March 18) in Vancouver, Canada, before hitting US cities Boston, Philadelphia, New Orleans, Houston, San Diego, Los Angeles, Portland, Chicago, Minneapolis, Denver and more. In June, Aalegra will embark on the tour’s European leg, traveling to London and Sweden. Find her full tour dates on her website.
On May 30, Aalegra is also scheduled to perform at The Roots’ Picnic in Philadelphia. The one-day festival will feature acts like Meek Mill, DaBaby, Summer Walker, Burna Boy, Thundercat, Sir, Phony Ppl and more.
