The Weeknd debuted a new song on “SNL” Saturday night (March 7). The XO singer returned to the sketch comedy show for the third time and performed records from his upcoming album, After Hours. The Weeknd performed his hit single, “Blinding Lights” first, then debuted a new track titled, “Scared to Live,” which features Oneohtrix Point Never’s Daniel Lopatin.

“Well, I am not the man I used to be / Did some things I couldn’t let you see / Refused to be the one to taint your heart,” he sang on the record, which includes a sample of Elton John’s “Your Song.”

The Weeknd has been building anticipation for his forthcoming album, as he recently released a five-minute cinematic visual, also titled, After Hours. The short film was directed by Anton Tammi, who is also responsible for the “Blinding Lights” and “Heartless” music videos. The film has amassed 3 million views since being released on March 4.

The Weeknd initially announced the release of the album in an Instagram video on Feb. 13. He captioned the clip, “Album title.”

Days later, he announced tour dates to accompany the album, which is set to be released on March 20.

The 57-date tour, which will kick off in June, will make stops in cities such as Chicago, Toronto, Brooklyn, Atlanta, Miami, Houston, New Orleans and Los Angeles. Abel will then embark on the European leg of the tour from October through mid-November, performing in Scotland, Holland, England, Germany and Belgium. The After Hours Tour will wrap in in Paris on Nov. 12.

Singer/songwriter Sabrina Claudio will join The Weeknd on tour, along with rapper Don Toliver and the Canadian hip hop duo 88GLAM.

After Hours will mark The Weeknd’s fourth studio album, and it is also the follow-up to his EP My Dear Melancholy, which dropped in 2018. The singer released his album, Starboy, in 2016.
