Lil Uzi Vert graced fans with a new album on Friday (March 6), titled, Eternal Atake. According to XXL, Uzi’s intro track “Baby Pluto” has already dethroned Roddy Ricch’s “The Box,” from the No. 1 spot on Spotify’s U.S. Top 50 chart. The Philadelphia rapper now has a song holding down each spot on the top 20 from his new album, with the exception of three.
Meanwhile, “The Box,” which has been No. 1 on the chart since the day after Christmas, has dropped to No. 5.
Uzi released the 18-song album Friday morning (March 6) after fans thought to expect the record a week later, on March 13.
He shared the tracklist for the album Thursday night (March 5), revealing that Syd is on his record “Ugency.” Also unveiling that Chief Keef produced the song, “Chrome Hearts Tags.” Uzi sampled The Backstreet Boys’ 1999 hit, “I Want It That way,” on his single, “That Way.”
Nick Carter of the 90s band took to Twitter to invite Uzi to be on the group’s next album. Nick tweeted, “OMG ! Freaking LOVE @LilUziVert. Now you’re gonna have to be featured on our next album bud.” Uzi replied, “Thanks Nick.”
Uzi dropped “Futsal Shuffle 2020,” the lead single from the album, last year.
Eternal Atake is the follow-up to Uzi’s Luv Is Rage 2 album, which was released in 2017. He initially announced the album in 2018, but due to difficulties with his label, Generation Now, the album was put on hold. While Uzi was dealing with label issues, he took time to offer advice to artists combatting similar issues.
“If you want your album 2 drop Number One rule don’t hang with the boss girlfriend,” Uzi wrote. “If you want your album 2 drop be patient let the guilty answer all the blogs. FREE UZI.”
