A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie has confirmed a Friday (Feb. 14) release date for his third studio album, Artist 2.0. The record serves as a follow-up to 2018’s Hoodie SZN and the sequel to his 2016 debut mixtape, Artist.
“ARTIST 2.0 2.14 VALENTINES DAY,” he announced on Instagram Monday (Feb. 10), along with a clip of him performing the record’s lead track, “King Of My City.”
Artist 2.0’s fast-approaching drop date quickly sent fans into a flurry, especially considering that the album was initially slated for a 2019 release.
“Artist 2.0 is basically like a remake of Artist,” A Boogie previously said of the record during an interview with Tim Westwood. “The whole piano theme and the whole ‘Girl tryna control me’ theme… and then you’ve got some new wave Boogie.”
Following the album’s release, fans can expect a music hiatus from the “Look Back At It” rapper. Back in November, A Boogie revealed to fans that he wanted to take some time off after his Artist 2.0-following tour to focus on other pursuits.
“This might be my last project for a while,” he had written on Instagram. “I wanna take a break from music after Artist 2.0 tour is over. There’s a lot of things I want to do in life and it’s just moving too fast for me to focus on everything at once. But I will never let my fans down. When you need me most, I’ll be there.”
This year, A Boogie has released “Wolf” with lil Tr33zy and appeared on a “Slide (Remix)” alongside Pop Smoke, H.E.R. and Chris Brown. Hoodie SZN saw collaborations with Tekashi 6ix9ine, Tyga, Offset, Juice WRLD, Queen Naija, Young Thug, Don Q, Quando Rondo, Lil Durk, PnB Rock and more.
Artist 2.0 is expected to include 13 tracks and zero features. Look out for the record on Friday (Feb. 14).
