Cardi B’s sophomore album is one of this year’s highly anticipated projects. Serving as the follow-up to her Grammy-winning debut, Invasion of Privacy, Cardi spoke with Baller Alert on the progress of her next record.

“I have my cool, calm and collected songs, just missing a couple more club hits,” she told the outlet. “But we’re getting there.”

As for the album’s release, the Bronx-bred artist says she’s hesitant to name an official drop date.

“I can never put a date on it because, like, when you feel like you’ve got those songs, that’s when it’s gonna come out,” she continued. “I cannot put a date on my ears, you know what I’m saying? When I feel like I have it, that’s when [it’ll come out].”

Elsewhere in the interview snippet, Cardi also revealed that “Clout” is her daughter Kulture’s favorite song.

“As soon as she hears ‘Clout,’ that’s when she makes me gush because she just gets so excited,” she said, adding that Kulture loves to see her parents in the Offset-collaborated music video.

Furthermore, Cardi also gave some advice to new artists.

“Always get a lawyer, always have a lawyer,” she said. “No matter what you do, always get a lawyer. I don’t care if you’re broke—this, this and that—before you invest on anything, make sure you invest in a lawyer.”

Cardi’s Invasion of Privacy was released in April of 2018 and won the Grammy Award for Best Rap Album and BET’s Album of the Year. During an Instagram Live session, she previously announced that her sophomore album would be titled Tiger Woods.

“I think I’m going to name my album Tiger Woods,” she had revealed. “I think I’m going to call it Tiger Woods because, remember when everybody was talking sh*t on Tiger Woods, like ‘Oh blah blah, blah blah this, blah blah that,’ and then he fu*king came and won that green jacket? That’s what I’m going to name my album.”

However, she later told “Rap Radar” that she was only joking.
