Bad Boys For Life, the third edition of the Will Smith and Martin Lawrence-starring franchise, it set to hit theaters on Jan. 17. The film is projected to do extremely well at the box office, anticipated to bring in between $40 and $45 million leading up to Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Jan. 20).

According to Deadline, the projection puts the film on track to compete with other movies that have come out over the long weekend. However, Sony puts the film’s forecast closer to $38 million instead. Past benchmark movies to arrive over the weekend have included Ride Along and Ride Along 2, which generated $48.6 million and $41 million, respectively.

Bad Boys For Life reportedly costed $90 million. The picture follows the famous duo, Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowery, who unite once again when a Romanian mob boss takes revenge on them, interrupting their attempt to retire.

Joining Smith and Lawrence in the cast will be Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Charles Melton, Paola Núñez, Kate del Castillo and DJ Khaled. The film is co-directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, with Jerry Bruckheimer, Smith and Doug Belgrad producing. Bad Boys, the trilogy’s first movie, launched in 1995 and generated $141.4 million worldwide. The sequel, 2003’s Bad Boys II, grossed $273.3 million.

Earlier this month, Lawrence and Smith appeared on Ellen to disclose—what they could—about the new movie and discuss what it was like working together again.

“Just the respect we have for each other, and the love we have for each other,” Lawrence began “It’s just perfect.”

“Literally the first moment onstage, connecting, it was right back,” Smith agreed.

The guys also talked about using stuntmen in the movie, although Smith admitted he tried doing his own stunts at the beginning of filming.

“The first couple weeks… I did like two, and I was like, ‘Sub!” joked Smith. “I probably got four days into shooting and I was like, yeah, we gonna let the young boy do that.”
