Kash Doll recently held her 2nd annual Christmas scholarship giveaway in partnership with the Detroit Health Department and Phlebotomy Express Training.
Ten deserving applicants were selected by Kash Doll after submitting the required three-minute-long video explaining the need and desire for the funding. The scholarship benefits students studying to become medical assistants or phlebotomy technicians and assist with financial aid during the 2020 school-year. Instead of just awarding ten students with the scholarship, she gave 20 students the full scholarship.
She spoke to the students at the event. She said, “Congratulations everybody. You all deserve it. I’ve seen all of the videos, you all deserve it. And do not make me cry. I’m so sensitive. Please don’t make me cry but, I just feel like God put everybody in position, not only to give back, but to inspire. And you guys inspired me and inspire my aunty Kim to just be able to just help you get over that one lil’, everybody need that lil’ one lil’ extra. You know what I’m talking bout? That one lil’. We just gon call it a one lil, you feel me? Everybody need that. And just to be able to be in position to team up with my aunty and be able to give you that one lil’, is like, I like doing too much but we need that one lil’ sometimes. And I’m just grateful to be able to be in position you know? And to be here to see you all and give you that one lil.”
“I can’t believe it, yesterday i gave away 20 scholarships it had my name on them 😻…. thank u auntie Kim @phlebotomyetc for always finding a way to make change you’re such a beautiful soul ❤️ 📸 @mr_ware91.”
Kash Doll is not a stranger to giving back to her community. The rapper recently attended the 7th Annual Breastfeeding Awareness Community Baby Shower, which was hosted by the Detroit Health Department. The event’s attendees learned about the positive effects of breastfeeding, infant mortality rates and life as new parents. The expecting parents also received cribs, diapers, information about community resources and more.
