Iggy Azalea is apologizing for her “I’m single” update. The rapper announced the split from Playboi Carti on Friday (Dec. 20), writing on her Instagram story, “I’m single.” However, she deleted the post shortly after.
Despite her quickly removing the post, it began to circulate the net like a wild fire. She later returned to social media to apologize for her actions, revealing that she loves Carti “more than you could ever know.”
“I need to make an apology,” she said. “It’s not my character to put out whatever business I go through in my private life on the internet for the world to comment on. I felt very upset and I made an impulse choice that I immediately regretted, but it was too late to undo. The truth is that I love Jordan very much, I always will – more than you could ever know.”
Iggy closed out the apology writing, “That’s all the world should ever need to hear and iam sorry for making something public that should always remain between him & I no matter what.”
This news comes after speculation that Iggy and Carti were expecting their first child together. While there were very few details at the time, Iggy denounced all pregnancy-related rumors by uploading new photos revealing her baby bump-less stomach.
Iggy and Playboi Carti were in the news not too long ago following the burglarizing of their home, which is located in Buckhead – a suburb outside of Atlanta. The couple was robbed of $366,000 worth of jewelry, including custom rings, chains, bracelets, pendants, watches, earrings, and a diamond engagement ring.
Iggy was home at the time and said she left the door open so that Carti could get inside. No one was harmed during the incident.
As for the split, Carti has not commented.
