In the new year, Meek Mill wants to offer his guidance to up-and-coming rappers.

On Thursday (Dec. 19) the Dream Chasers label head tweeted that he was frustrated with record labels offering young rappers ‘slave’-like deals.

“What about major companies taking kids from the ghetto and got them signing they lives away for a lil bit of money?” he tweeted. “We taking control of that 2020 and exposing the people offering these slave deals! Ima get some lawyers to break down some of these deals y’all offering these kids.”

In a later tweet, Meek revealed his own struggles with maneuvering through bad deals and untrustworthy executives.

“I don’t trust people and they motives really nomore,” he tweeted. “Everybody planning to make something off you with out you knowing!”

Meek has previously shared his passion for helping new artists, in relation to his new Dream Chasers imprint.

“I’m 32 years old, I’m in a nice spot in the music business and I think it’s time for me to focus on growing artists because that’s what I love to do,” he told Rolling Stone. “I love to spend time on helping artists grow, and I think it’s time for me to dive in, business-wise.”

Last month, the Philadelphia rapper launched a Twitter hashtag to spotlight underground artists. Twitter users could use #PassTheAux for a chance for their music to be retweeted by a celebrity rapper.

Meek’s not the only A-list artist shining a light on unfair record deals. Earlier this week, Tory Lanez threatened to put Interscope Records on blast.

“Interscope Records… If yall ni**as dont stop playing w/ me… Ima expose whats really going on in that f**king building!!!!!” he wrote on Instagram. “Y’all play w me if u want to… Let’s play… y’all got the right f**king one.”

Lanez later teased an ‘Instagram Live party’ to expose the label in a tweet, which he has since deleted.
