Lil Yachty has addressed a video taken at Rolling Loud, which portrays him and his team involved in an altercation with another person. Initially reported by TMZ, the clip appears to show Yachty in a fight with a man, which he says was not one-sided.
“Basically, last night as I was leaving out the festival, a guy walked in the middle of my group of people and pushed me,” Yachty said in an Instagram video that he has since deleted. “Not like tapped me, [but] pushed me out the way—screaming and all type of stuff… Just being blatantly disrespectful and causing a scene.”
Although the video makes it look like Yachty initiated the fight, he claims this is untrue and that it was the individual’s pushing and yelling that caused the altercation.
“[The video] doesn’t show any of that,” he continued. “It makes it seem like we’re just picking a fight, and I’m not a problematic person. I don’t just pick fights with people.”
Yachty had performed earlier that evening at Rolling Loud Los Angeles on Sunday (Dec. 15). The festival became a night of tributes for Juice WRLD, who was slated as a headlining performer. During an interview backstage, Yachty said a few words about his friend.
“Man he was such a good kid bro, you know he was so talented and I told him every time like yo bro you are so fu**ing talented,” he said. “You know he was so, so just good at what he did. Like he’s the only kid I’ve ever met that just really freestyles in one take. He’ll do seven takes on a verse and scratch em all. He’s just really talented bro he has a voice, he can sing. You know he was gone way too soon man, he was a good kid.”
Future, Yachty and more paid tribute to Juice during their Rolling Loud sets.
