Last month, Chris Brown and his ex-girlfriend, model Ammika Harris, triggered online speculation when they shared cryptic Instagram messages that seemingly announced the birth their new baby. Now, Brown has officially confirmed the arrival of his son by sharing the infant’s name and a sweet photo.
“AEKO CATORI BROWN,” Brown wrote in an Instagram post on Wednesday (Dec. 11). Along with his son’s name, the “No Guidance” singer posted a black-and-white photo that shows the three-week-old’s tiny toes held in Brown’s hands.
Brown and Harris first propelled the rumors with Instagram posts.
“11-20-2019,” Brown wrote in one of two posts on Nov. 21. The second post revealed a caption-less selfie, which showed Brown wearing a hoodie that read, “BORN.”
Likewise, Harris hinted at her son’s birth by writing, “I was in love, when I first saw you” on her Instagram story.
Aeko is Brown’s second child, after his 5-year-old daughter, Royalty, whom he shares with Nia Guzman. The Indigo crooner has previously opened up about his fatherhood experiences on Instagram.
“This generation will fix this planet,” he wrote on Oct. 19, sharing a photo of a smiling Royalty. “IM DOING MY BEST to allow my child to grow and teach me to be better. ALL THE FATHERS OUT THERE WHO DONT STEP UP TO THE PLATE, YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON WHAT LIVING REALLY IS.”
TMZ has previously reported that although Harris and Brown are no longer dating, the two are enjoying an amicable co-parenting relationship. Brown spoke about co-parenting Royalty with Guzman back in 2015, while on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show, “On-Air with Ryan Seacrest.”
“So I have a co-parenting job that’s pretty amazing but, you know, learning how to be a dad, especially learning how to take care of somebody else, you know, I barely know how to brush my teeth in the morning!” he joked at the time. “It’s actually great. It’s very humbling… The best part of being a dad [is], you know, doing those little things.”
