Megan Thee Stallion took to Twitter on Wednesday (Nov. 20) to put some rumors to bed.
The Houston Hottie attended a Cleveland Cavaliers game on Monday (Nov. 18) when speculation began to circulate that she had been invited to the game by basketball player Tristan Thompson.
Sports Gossip originally reported that Thompson and Megan had begun dating, claiming that Thompson had slid into Megan’s DMs inviting her to the game, and that the couple went out to dinner later that night.
On Wednesday (Nov. 20), Thompson had the night off as the Cavs played Miami Heat. One Twitter user took this to mean that Megan and Thompson had gone on a date, writing, “[Megan Thee Stallion] must’ve worn that boy out!”
The rapper quickly shut down the Twitter murmurs.
“What In the f**k are you talking about,” Megan tweeted. “I wish y’all would stop making sh*t up I don’t even know that ni**a.”
When another Twitter user cited the original reporting from Black Sports Online and Sports Gossip, Meg responded, “Lol they literally made up a whole LIE I was at knicks game with my manager and my friend Ej.”
“If I ain’t claiming him he ain’t mine …SIMPLE,” the rapper concluded on Twitter.
Last month, Megan reportedly split up with rapper Moneybagg Yo. The two had previously flaunted his-and-hers chains and collaborated on the single “All Dat.”
Although dating rumors surrounding Megan and Thompson have been debunked, the “Hot Girl Summer” rapper was seen enjoying a night out with Trey Songz for a celebration ahead of the R&B crooner’s 35th birthday.
“Meg Thee Stallion and Trey Songz out here enjoying each other’s company last night!” The Shade Room reported on Thursday morning (Nov. 21).
Although Megan was not nominated for a Grammy, she’s enjoyed a whirlwind year so far. She recently premiered an unreleased song on NPR’s “Tiny Desk’ concert series, contributed to the Queen & Slim soundtrack with her VickeeLo-assisted “Ride Or Die” and made her acting debut in Teyana Taylor’s Halloween-themed web series “Hottieween” last month.
Next year, Megan will also release her highly anticipated debut studio album.
“I felt like my mixtapes were me flirting with my fans,” she told NPR, referring to her high-charting Fever and Tina Snow. “I never wanted to do an album ‘cause I was like, ‘Oh, that feel like marriage. That’s a commitment.’ But now, I’m ready to settle down with an album.”
