A$AP Rocky is now a subject of President Trump’s impeachment hearings. On Wednesday morning (Nov. 20), European Union Ambassador Gordon Sondland recalled “primarily” discussing A$AP Rocky during a phone call with Trump that took place on July 26.

“It’s true that the president speaks loudly at times, and it’s also true, I think we primarily discussed A$AP Rocky,” Gordon said of the call during the hearing. “It’s true that the president likes to use colorful language. Anyone who has met with him for any reasonable amount of time knows this.”

The call took place during the time that Rocky was in a Swedish jail. The rapper spent nearly five weeks imprisoned, as he awaited trial. At the time, Trump vocally opposed of Rocky’s treatment and the U.S. administration got involved. Rocky was eventually found guilty of assault and given a suspended sentence.

During the call, Trump allegedly also asked about the Ukrainian government investigating Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.

TMZ reports that later in the hearing, Sondland testified that the phone call “included the subject of investigations” into the Bidens and revealed that there was a “quid pro quo” established between Trump and Ukraine.

Earlier this month, Rocky announced he’ll be returning to Sweden in December for a concert. In a quick interview with TMZ, the “L$D” rapper said he’s also taken an interest in helping immigrants in Sweden.

“When I was in Sweden, I met so many people like myself and all of those immigrants didn’t really have the kind of support that they needed,” he said. “Like, being a celebrity, I had worldwide coverage. We had the American Embassy. These people come from countries where they don’t have help.”

When TMZ asked Rocky if he ever spoke with Trump after returning to the states, Rocky dodged the question.

Part of the proceeds from his concert will reportedly go toward the Swedish Network of Refugee Support Groups, a non-profit organization that works to strengthen the right of asylum.
