Less than a month away, the 2019 American Music Awards’ list of nominated artists has arrived. Post Malone leads the pack with seven noms, including Artist of the Year, Collaboration of the Year, Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Rap Artist, Favorite Rap Album, Favorite Rap Song and Favorite Rap Album. Lil Nas X debuts in five categories, New Artist of the Year, Collaboration of the Year, Favorite Music Video, Favorite Pop Song and Favorite Rap Song for “Old Town Road” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus. Lizzo and Ella Mai are also in the running for New Artist of the Year.
For the coveted Artist of the Year Award, Drake and Post Malone will compete against Ariana Grande, Halsey and Taylor Swift. Swift stands to beat out Michael Jackson’s record for the most AMAs if she wins two of the five categories she’s nominated in.
Drake, Post Malone and Khalid make up the Favorite Male Artist Pop category, with Drake and Post Malone also joining Cardi B in the Favorite Rap Artist slot. As for Favorite Rap Album, Meek Mill’s Championships, Post Malone’s Hollywood’s Bleeding and Travis Scott’s Astroworld are in the running. Scott and Malone are also nominated for Favorite Rap Song for “Wow.” and “Sicko Mode,” alongside Lil Nas.
Beyoncé and Ella Mai hold down the R&B noms, with Bey nominated for Favorite R&B Artist, joined by Lizzo and Mai. The British singer is also included in Favorite R&B Album and Favorite R&B Song for Ella Mai and “Trip.” Chris Brown, Khalid and Bruno Mars are included in the Favorite R&B Male Artist categories, with Khalid and CB also nominated for Favorite R&B Album and Khalid’s “Talk” for Favorite R&B Song.

The 2019 AMAs will be held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Nov. 24, broadcast at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
