Tuesday (Oct. 8) marked a very important day for City Girls’ fans: JT was released from prison. In an effort to celebrate her release, JT dropped a new track entitled “First Day Out.”
On the Twysted Genius-produced track, JT reflects on her time behind bars. “But I can write a book about the rainy days (Facts) / I don’t gotta throw shade to get a fanbase/ I been a real bitch way before the fed case (Yeah)/ Yung Miami held me down, that’s a bitch ace (Period) / And if a bitch try her, it’s a cold case / Get yo ass snatched up like my new waist (Yeah),” she raps.
In a post uploaded to Instagram on Tuesday (Oct. 8), Yung Miami announced that her counterpart was released from prison after serving a 24-month sentence for fraudulent charges. “YOU BITCHES IN TROUBLE!! MY BITCH HOME!” Miami wrote.
A while back, Yung Miami stated that JT’s sentence was a setback but motivated her to keep the group afloat. “It’s a minor setback for a major comeback because it’s a movement,” Miami said to Rolling Stone. “ Everybody know JT now. When she come back, everyone will be paying attention. When she get out, she gon’ be big. God brought us this far.”
Before turning herself in, back in the summer of 2018, City Girls’ career was at an all-time high. The rap duo was featured on Drake’s “In My Feelings,” which blew up beyond measure. On the new track, JT reflected on that moment as well.
“Went in the same day Drake dropped “In My Feelings” / I was in prison on my bunk, really in my feelings (Facts) / Now I’m back to the millions, bitches in they feelings . I was in grays playing spades, Miami making children,” she spits.
