Kanye West is taking his talents to Wyoming.
According to TMZ, the rapper has purchased a large property outside of Cody, Wyoming called Monster Lake Ranch. The resort is located on more than 9,000 acres of land and has eight lodging units. The property also has fresh water fishing lakes, a restaurant, an event center, and meeting facilities. There are horses, barns and corrals as well.
It is has not been confirmed how much Kanye actually paid, but the asking price was $14 million. He owns 4,500 of the 9,000 acres and the rest of the land is leased from the federal government.
Kanye seems to have a thing for the Midwest as he was recently in Dayton, Ohio. The rapper recently held a Sunday Service to honor the victims and survivors of the mass shooting that took place last month, which left nine people dead and 17 injured. The Sunday Service was held at the RiverScape MetroPark.
Kim Kardashian made the announcement of the service on the day of. “In support of the victims and survivors of the Dayton mass shooting,” she said.
Comedians Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle were in attendance. Chappelle spoke to the crowd at the Sunday Service and said, “We’re still here and we’re still strong. And the only way, but not the only way, but the BEST WAY that we can honor our fallen is by getting up better than we were before.”
Chappelle, who also received a Kanye-led birthday serenade, was in Ohio to host a free block party for residents affected by the tragedy.
The “Gem Shine Benefit” concert was held in the Oregon District on Aug. 4. The event’s Facebook page promoted the event and said that the benefit will “honor the lives lost and to reclaim the community’s favorite places to shop, dine and enjoy time with family and friends.”
The event took place from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
