Following Nicki Minaj’s retirement announcement yesterday (Sept. 5), the Barbz nearly lost their minds. After reading the comments of her concerned fans, Minaj issued an apology for being impulsive.
While on Twitter, one fan begged the New York rapper to address her retirement in more detail. “Can u please just address this retirement thing. You never left us so hurt your entire career. We’re just hurting Nicki. It’s US it’s the barbz plz,” the concerned fan wrote.
It’s safe to say that the fan’s comment struck a chord with Minaj. The 36-year-old spitter apologized for her insensitive announcement and stated that she will provide more details on an upcoming episode of Queen Radio.
“I’m still right here,” Minaj wrote. “Still madly in love with you guys & you know that. In hindsight, this should’ve been a Queen Radio discussion & it will be. I promise u guys will be happy. No guests, just us talking about everything. The tweet was abrupt & insensitive, I apologize babe.”
Speaking a little more on her retirement announcement, Minaj stated that she is ready to start a family. For months now, Minaj has been hinting at new music, marriage and starting a family with her beau, Kenneth Petty. “I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE,” Minaj posted to Twitter.
Earlier today (Sept. 6), TMZ reported that Minaj’s team was blindsided by the announcement.
