One of the four men arrested in connection with XXXTentacion’s murder claims that police violated his rights during questioning. He is now demanding that his testimony be omitted in court.

According to The Blast, Michael Boatwright has filed a motion to suppress the testimony he gave police. In the newly filed documents, his lawyer claims that on July 5, 2018, Boatwright was arrested on an unrelated drug charge and was transported to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, where he was interrogated. The attorney claims that the homicide detective, who was investigating Boatwright as a potential suspect in XXX’s murder, began asking him a number of “background” questions.

Boatwright said that eight minutes into questioning, he told the detective that he no longer wished to speak. His lawyer, however, said that the police did not halt the interview and continued questioning Boatwright. The officer reportedly had someone else enter the room to take photos and DNA from Boatwright.

The lawyer claims that the officer then read his client his Miranda Rights. Boatwright claims that while he continued to be silent, he did answer some of the questions the officer asked. The officer allegedly said, “Just tell me to f—k off then. So I know you’re done.”

Boatwright is currently behind bars as he awaits trial.

Meanwhile, back in March, Boatwright accused prosecutors of not turning over all of the evidence in XXX’s murder case. According to The Blast, he claimed that police withheld sharing evidence, including statements given by the rapper’s mother and mother of his child.

On another note, Dedrick Williams, who is also a suspect in the murder, reportedly hired a forensic expert to assist in his case. Court documents revealed that Williams was granted $15,000 to hire an expert who can testify on his behalf to help prove his innocence.
