The wait is over. Netflix has announced a release date for the Drake-produced series, “Top Boy.”
According to Netflix, the series will make a comeback on Sept. 13. Luckily for fans, “Top Boy” will pick up where it left off. The series will follow characters Sully and Dushane who fight to become leaders of London’s underground drug trade. Back in 2017, Drizzy announced that the show would be making a comeback while performing in London. As a treat for his audience, Champagne Papi surprised fans with a trailer, which teased upcoming events that are set to take place in the 10-episode run.
Although it’s not confirmed whether or not Drake will make a cameo, actor Ashley Walters, who plays the role of Dushane, revealed that the team was working out a role for the Toronto spitter. “We met up to start talking about the show and we are working out a role for him,” Walters admitted.
This isn’t the first time that Drake has pulled out his producer hat. Back in July, Drizzy announced that his HBO show, “Euphoria,” was picked up for another season. Since the show’s debut in mid-June, “Euphoria” has received a ton of praise and features a spectacular cast including Zendaya, Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, and more. In an effort to express his excitement, Drake shared to Instagram that the HBO show has been renewed for season two.
“Euphoria picked up for Season 2 OBVIOUSLYYYYYYYYY,” he wrote.
In other Drake-related news, the Scorpion rapper is simultaneously in album mode. There are multiple reports that Drizzy was spotted in Miami working on new music. The Care Package rapper was seen hanging out with DJ Khaled and hinted at a possible collaboration. In the past, Drizzy and Khaled released a handful of bangers including “For Free,” “To the Max,” “No New Friends” and more.
