As the summer comes to a close, Barack Obama has shared his favorite songs to welcome the fall. Obama took to Twitter on Saturday (Aug. 24) to unveil his lengthy summer 2019 playlist. Before revealing the 44 tracks that made the cut, the 44th president wrote, “With summer winding down, here’s a sampling of what Michelle and I have been listening to — some new, some old, some fast, some slow. Hope you enjoy.”

The playlist includes some of the biggest hip hop and R&B hits, and a few unexpected surprises. The former POTUS kicked off the list with Drake and Rihanna’s “Too Good.” He also listed JAY-Z and Beyoncé’s “MOOD 4 EVA” off The Lion King: The Gift album.

Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama also enjoyed SZA’s “Go Gina,” Ella Mai’s “Boo’d Up” and Daniel Caesar and H.E.R.’s “Best Part.”

Other records to make the cut include 2 Chainz’s “It’s a Vibe”, Q-Tip’s “Believe” and the late Mac Miller’s “Dang!”

Lil Nas X, who made Billboard charting history by topping the Hot 100 for 16 weeks, was also on the Obama’s list with his track, “Old Town Road,” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus. There were also classic hits from Stevie Wonder, The Rolling Stones and Van Morrison.

Lizzo’s “Juice” was featured on the playlist as well. After finding out the news, she tweeted, “WE’RE FRIENDS NOW I DON’T MAKE THE RULES!!!” However, just before Lizzo posted that tweet, she had taken to Twitter to praise Obama. “The first President I could ever vote for was Obama. I was so proud of my right to vote and I will never take it for granted. I love us. I’m not sure who I’m voting for yet, but it for damn sure isn’t Trump,” she said.

The Obamas are also hip to Goldlink and Koffee, who took the 10th and 27th spots on the list, respectively.

A Tribe Called Quest concluded the Obama “Summer Playlist 2019” with “Can I Kick It?”
