Arin Ray and Kehlani on a track together is exactly what R&B needs. Hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio; the singer and songwriter returns with a brand new single titled “Change” featuring the Bay Area songstress herself. From the moment the record hits your ears, you’re automatically drawn into an alluring soundscape containing his buttery vocals.
“Change” arrives capturing the concept of love and the different stages of a relationship. The desire and need for the other person to stay and make up their mind on what they want are relatable on so many levels. Both artists deliver their own verses while trading lines on the chorus. They croon, “Should I stay / should I go / should I leave? I don’t know / goddamn.”
Arin shared a picture of him and Lani on social media with the caption, “Man this is crazy, gotta thank everyone for all the love y’all been showing for the new record “Change”. 🥀 I’m forever grateful. Has even been a solid 24 yet! We just getting started. Loving the feedback, keep it coming. 😁”
Speaking on the collaboration specifically, Arin states, “I’ve known Kehlani for some years now. I’ve always admired her as an artist and even more as a friend. I feel like we’ve got one with this record for sure.”
And the feeling is mutual. Lani took to her 8.2 million followers on Instagram earlier this week to post a different photo of herself and Arin with the caption: “favorite collaboration i’ve done in a long time. i fuckin love this song @arinraycamp ‘Change’ on Friday. 🔒🧡 glad we finally did this. real friends real love.”
In December of last year, Arin unleashed his critically acclaimed debut album, Platinum Fire, hailing the standout single “We Ain’t Homies” featuring YG. Since then, he has released two bangers, “Roses” and “Reckless.” The 23-year-old continues to grow his fanbase while shutting down stages all across the country.
“Change” is currently in serious rotation for all the lovers in the world! Listen below.
