Drake doesn’t rest.
According to a new report from Page Six, which was published yesterday (Aug. 16), Drake is allegedly working on new music in Miami. An insider informed the outlet that Drake has been making his rounds in the 305. Toronto’s finest was spotted dining at Swan with owner David Grutman and DJ Khaled. The pieces to the puzzle are starting to connect. While on Instagram, both Khaled and Champagne Papi hinted that they were in the process of cooking up new music.
“It’s called YOU KNOW WA GWAN @champagnepapi x KHALED link up. A ting called Family ting #WeTheBest #OvO,” Khaled wrote as his caption.
Yesterday (Aug. 16), Drake teamed up with Swae Lee for a new banger entitled “Won’t Be Late.” On the Mike WiLL Made-It and Tekno-produced track, both artists spit about a relationship they are taking slow. “Yeah, yeah, saving my time for you/Suddenly I freed up (Free)/Freezing my times with you/When I’m lonely, I can bring them up/Closed off my line for you,” Drake croons over the melodic beat.
In addition to hopping on new tracks, the OVO Festival founder has a lot to celebrate. This week, Drake became the first solo artist to have 200 appearances on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Thanks to the addition of six songs: “Trust Issues,” “How About Now,” “The Motion,” “Dreams Money Can Buy,” “Club Paradise” and “Days in the East,” Drake now has a total of 203. To put the icing on the cake, all of these songs are on Care Package, which is also Drake’s ninth No. 1 album.
Shortly after Care Package’s debut on several streaming platforms, the LP moved a total of 109,000 equivalent album units in the United States. There’s no telling how Drake will commemorate this achievement. Previously, we reported that Drake gifted himself new ink after beating The Beatles’ Billboard Hot 100 record.
