At midnight, Megan Thee Stallion released her latest track “Hot Girl Summer,” which features Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign. Although the track has only been on streaming platforms for a couple of hours, the single has already made history.

While on Instagram today (Aug. 9), Minaj shared that her recent collaboration has become the first female rap collab to hit No. 1 on iTunes USA. In her caption, the New York rapper hints that she might link up with Megan to celebrate the exciting news.

“Yikes. Herstory in the making. should I run up on meg today & go live y’all? Or nah? Y’all deserve it for showing me how to go live with her that night y’all was mad aggy that night, cussing me out & s–t but I listened to y’all & look what happened to god be the glory. love you,” Minaj wrote as her Instagram caption.

Last week, during an Instagram Live session, Megan praised Minaj and called her the GOAT. Before ending their conversation, Megan graciously pointed out that her upcoming album needs a verse from the Queen rapper herself. “I’m finally gonna start working on my album, and we need the Queen… We don’t have a date,” she said. “We just started recording.”

Shortly after their conversation, Minaj got to work. That same night, Minaj penned a verse for Megan’s track. “…Once I heard the song I fell in love. Wrote it b4 I went to sleep. None of that was planned. I had no idea meg was on live or that she would want to go live 2gthr,” Minaj said on Twitter.

Admirably, Minaj and Megan have been quite vocal about their mutual respect for each other. “I really appreciate you, and even though we’ve been joking a lot, I wanted to tell you that it means a lot to me all of the nice and all of the sweet things that you ever said,” the “Megatron” spitter said in reference to Megan’s compliments. “Like, it means the world to me.”
