JAY-Z and Will Smith are reportedly combining their creative ideas on a new project.

According to Deadline, Smith and Jay will produce an anthology series centered around women of the civil rights movement. The project, which is developed by ABC, was created by writer Marissa Jo Cerar. The first season derives inspiration from the books Emmett Till: The Murder That Shocked the World and Propelled the Civil Rights Movement by Devery S. Anderson. The series will shed light on Emmett Till’s mother, Mamie Till, who spent a great deal of time seeking justice in her son’s name following his murder in the Jim Crow South. Jay’s Roc Nation and Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment are also attached to the project.

Last month, Smith and his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, announced that they are launching a multimedia venture, Westbrook Inc. The company will support new and existing projects from the Smith family.

As for the Brooklyn spitter, he has a lot of things in the works, to say the least. Jay is set to produce an upcoming Netflix film entitled The Harder They Fall. The Jeymes Samuel-directed film will follow a man named Nat Love who seeks revenge on the man who killed his parents. In addition to that, “Free Meek,” which is produced by JAY-Z, releases this Friday (Aug. 9).
