Keke Palmer is working on a new deal.
According to Deadline, Palmer is closing in on a deal to join Michael Strahan and Sara Haines on ABC’s talk-show spinoff of Good Morning America, “Strahan and Sara.” The network is impressed by Palmer’s chemistry and multiple appearances on the show. They believe that Palmer will help capture the attention of younger viewers. Palmer previously gave viewers a glimpse of her hosting talents when she filled in for Haines while she was on maternity leave.
“She’s got tons of energy, she’s fun and super spontaneous,” a source told Deadline. “You can see everyone is having a blast.”
Back in 2014, Palmer became the youngest host in TV history when she landed her own talk show on BET entitled “Just Keke.” The show ran for one month and featured guest appearances from Ty Dolla $ign, Fifth Harmony and more.
In addition to this potentially new deal, Palmer will star in Hustlers alongside Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B and more. The film is set to hit the big screen this fall. While speaking with Billboard, Lopez revealed that she was impressed and surprised by Palmer’s performance. The “Medicine” singer explained that the 25-year-old is great at improv.
“I had seen her audition tape,” J. Lo began. “I did a little bit of research on her when they were thinking [about her role]. We went through so many people for that part, so many people. But when I saw her — I had watched a couple of interviews of her and stuff like that — I was like, ‘This girl has something. She has personality.’ And she was awesome. We had fun from the first scene. I was like, ‘OK. We’re gon’ have fun!’”
Congrats to Keke Palmer. Be sure to catch her starring in Hustlers on Sept. 13 alongside J. Lo, Lizzo and Cardi B.
