On Friday (July 26), Big Sean released his latest single “Single Again,” which features Ty Dolla $ign and his ex-girlfriend Jhené Aiko. After the “Triggered” songstress promoted the song on social media, Sean took a moment to profess his unconditional love.

“@JheneAiko I appreciate you supporting me on this one and I want to just say I love you unconditionally. You amazing, talented, every song we do special to me! People gon say whatever but it is what it is. I could have txt u this I know but I want people to know I appreciate you,” he wrote on Twitter.

On the song, Sean emphasizes the importance of finding love within oneself and focusing on happiness. On the last verse, the Detroit spitter explains getting advice from DJ Khaled.

“I need the best advice, went across the street to Khaled/He said the major key is to be strong on your own/Lose your other half, you’re never off balance/Lookin’ for the love in somebody else/That I prolly shoulda gave to myself/Cycles I need to break in myself/If I’m alone, I’m second to no one else,” he raps.

Back in 2016, the pair began dating and were rumored to have called it quits in late 2018. This isn’t the first time that either party has professed their love for each other following their breakup. A little after Nipsey Hussle’s untimely death, Aiko felt compelled to express her love to the “Overtime” rapper while she still has the chance.

“You are so special to me,” she began. “While we’re both on this planet I just want to say… I love you beyond measure. Even tho I get big mad and u trigger the f–k out of me. u make me feel. and i appreciate that. because i thought i was dead inside. my ego has no say when it comes to you. and my heart has been broken a thousand times just to expand. it always finds room for you.” She ended her message by stating: “Imma always have ur back.”
