On Friday, July 26, in typical Chris Brown fashion, he dropped new moves as hot as this weather has been in his latest music video for “No Guidance” where both artists find themselves getting back to basics.
The nine-minute scene of a music video poked fun at his past rumored beef (about Rihanna) with none other than the 6 God and Toronto Raptors’ biggest fan himself, Drake.
Drake jumps back into his original scope of work as an actor, stunting with a few comedic lines for his scene. Brown teased the video before its release on his Instagram with a clip lifted from the visuals where Drake begins the dance battle in front of a crowd, playing out a scene of a dance battle where Drake is seen hyping himself up saying, “I don’t even need music! Alright, it’s my time now.”
Like fine wine, it seems that the older Chris Brown gets, the better the Indigo artist becomes. Brown continues the short-film by breaking down into a full-on choreographed set where he begins dancing in front of the Canadian rapper, breaking into a perfect set of visuals for the theme of the video. No one can break it down quite as Breezy does.
“No Guidance” has proven to be wildly successful for both artists and the video showcases the organic connection and respect between the two. A few years ago, if we were to imagine or even talk about Drake and Chris Brown collaborating on one track together, one would say it would never happen. But as the saying goes, “Never say never.”
