Congrats to Kendrick Lamar and his fiancée, Whitney Alford. The couple is proud parents of a baby girl.

As per Us Weekly, the rapper’s fiancée gave birth to their first child yesterday (July 26), after keeping their pregnancy a secret. Although the couple has yet to officially announce the news, that hasn’t stopped fans from sending their best wishes.

“Kendrick Lamar had a baby and idk I’m just so genuinely happy for him. That dude changed the world. A rapper winning a Pulitzer? Sheesh,” one user wrote.

“KDOT @kendricklamar GOT A BABY ON THE COME UP! Mad congrats to you and Whitney! I expect heat from his next joint let’s gooooooo #kingkendrick,” another user wrote.

Back in 2015, during an interview with Billboard, the DAMN. rapper emphasized the importance of his relationship with Alford. Lamar and Alford began dating while in high school.

“I wouldn’t even call her my girl,” he said. “That’s my best friend. I don’t even like the term that society has put in the world as far as being a companion—she’s somebody I can tell my fears to.”

In addition to preparing for his new bundle of joy, the 32-year-old rapper has had time for music as well. More recently, he made a guest appearance on Beyoncé’s Lion King-inspired LP, The Lion King: The Gift. On the track “Nile,” the Compton spitter talks about living life without any hesitation.

“Told myself if I dive in it without the precaution of a lifejacket/Then I’ll dive in it ’til I’m exhausted and I’m type lacking/Waistline on four deep, senses on four deep/Feel like there’s four of me,” he raps.

“Nile” marks the second collaboration between Lamar and Beyoncé. Back in 2016, both artists teamed up for “Freedom,” which was featured on Bey’s LP, Lemonade.
