Future’s bodyguard was allegedly knocked out.
Today (July 22), TMZ reported that Future’s bodyguard was sucker-punched in Ibiza, Spain at the International Airport. After arriving at the airport, Future was swarmed by 10 fans who asked for a photo. Future decided to turn them down to which he stated: “Not today, guys.” Future was reportedly tired and had just gotten off a long flight.
After Future turned them down, the guys became angry and proceeded to hurl racial slurs. Future’s bodyguard stepped in and tried to block them from getting close to the Atlanta rapper. Sources report that Future’s bodyguard was able to fight off several guys before getting sucker-punched. A source also reported that the guy who hit the bodyguard did so with a rock. Future has yet to comment on the situation at hand.
Last week, Future was among many who performed at the Jeddah World Fest in Saudi Arabia. Originally, Nicki Minaj was set to headline but eventually canceled after learning about Saudi Arabia’s laws.
President of the Human Rights Foundation, Thor Halvorssen, said in a statement to the Associated Press that he is disappointed in Future, Chris Brown, 50 Cent and the rest of the event’s performers. Halvorssen finds it “profoundly distressing that they have chosen money over morals.”
“These individuals constantly make public statements of support for LGBT rights and women’s rights, except, apparently, when a seven-figure check is attached,” Halvorssen relayed. “The hypocrisy is breathtaking. Principal apparently matters to them far more than principles.”
In other Future-related news, he is set to hit the road this fall on the “Legendary Nights” tour. The 24 city trek is slated to begin on Aug. 28 in St. Louis. The tour will also visit Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Boston, Atlanta, Houston Phoenix and more during its run.
