A$AP Rocky will stay in jail for another week while prosecutors continue their investigation.
In a new report published by TMZ today (July 19), prosecutors will continue investigating until a final decision is made next week on Thursday. Prosecutors believe that A$AP should stay behind bars because he’s a flight risk. Rocky and his crew are facing crimes of abuse, assault and attempted assault.
Yesterday (July 18), we reported that members of the White House were getting involved with Rocky’s case, thanks to efforts from Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. The couple reached out to Jared Kushner who also believes that the New York rapper is being treated unfairly. After talking with the couple, Kushner brought all of the information to President Donald Trump.
While on Twitter, the reality star posted a tweet thanking everyone for their efforts regarding Rocky’s case.
“Thank you @realDonaldTrump , @SecPompeo, Jared Kushner & everyone involved with the efforts to Free ASAP Rocky & his two friends. Your commitment to justice reform is so appreciated,” she wrote.
Since getting arrested on July 2, many hip-hop artists have offered their support towards Rocky’s case. Tyga decided to cancel his show in Sweden after hearing about Rocky’s unfair treatment. Travis Scott, Cardi B, Quavo and more have joined the #FreeRocky movement. In addition to the support from fellow artists, a petition has been created to potentially help with Rocky’s release.
While speaking with REVOLT, A$AP Ferg explained that he has been in contact with Rocky. The “Plane Jane” rapper is hopeful that things will start looking up for his friend.
“He’s [Rocky] been writing letters and receiving letters,” he said during the interview. “We’re just working to get him out. We’re trying everything in our power. We have a few things in the works. So, my hopes are up.”
