With only a few days left until the album’s release, Beyoncé is giving her fans something to look forward to.
Queen Bey’s forthcoming album, The Lion King: The Gift, is set to release on Friday (July 19). In a post uploaded to Instagram, the BeyHive got an exclusive look at the LP’s tracklist. The album will feature guest appearances from JAY-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, Wiz Kid, Jessie Reyez, Tierra Whack, Blue Ivy Carter and more.
While sharing her excitement with fans, Philly spitter Tierra Whack gave thanks to Beyoncé for allowing her to be a part of this special project.
“I wanna give a huge THANK YOU to @beyonce for choosing me to be apart of this amazing experience! #philly,” she wrote as her caption on Instagram.
Beyoncé, who serves as the voice of Nala in the Jon Favreau-directed film, explained that her album is a new experience of storytelling. “This is sonic cinema,” Beyoncé said in the statement announcing the new album. “This is a new experience of storytelling. I wanted to do more than find a collection of songs that were inspired by the film. It is a mixture of genres and collaboration that isn’t one sound. It is influenced by everything from R&B, pop, hip hop and Afro Beat.”
Prior to the release of the film and album, the 37-year-old songstress released “Spirit,” which serves as the final track on the LP. In addition to the release of “Spirit,” fans were teased with a snippet of Donald Glover and Beyoncé singing “Can You Feel The Love Tonight.” Although Glover, worked with Queen Bey quite a bit, he explained on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! show that he was intimidated by the Houston singer.
