A$AP Rocky’s legal troubles have resulted in canceled shows.
According to a new report from TMZ, Rocky has canceled his European performance and several other upcoming tour dates. The New York rapper was set to hit the stage at Sonar, a music festival in Barcelona, Spain, on July 19. In addition to that, some of A$AP’s other canceled shows include Splash! Fest in Germany on July 12 and concerts in Ukraine and Belgium on July 13 and July 14. He also had a sold-out gig in Milan on July 17 and two other shows on the 20th and 21st.
Following his arrest earlier this month, Rocky has faced inhumane jail conditions while in Swedish custody. While speaking with Page Six, governor of the Swedish prison, Frederik Wallin, argued that inmates receive standard conditions.
“Normally, you live in a prison cell which consists of a desk, a bed with a mattress and a TV,” Wallin said. “During the last few years, we have completed a large reconstruction where all the prison cells, as well as the rest of the remand prison, have been completely renovated, which make the remand prison in good condition. I have no knowledge on any current diseases in the remand prison.”
Elsewhere during the conversation, Wallin explained that the Swedish prison does their best to provide inmates with three meal courses. He also states that the prison is strict on cleanliness, which counteracts the claim that there are feces laying around.
“If someone spills their food, has any type of accident or hurts themselves which might cause blood, we immediately sanitize, using a professional cleaning company,” he said. “This is done for the sake of the prisoners as well as for our staff for them to have decent working conditions.”
A petition has been created in an effort to help with Rocky’s release. Currently, there are over 496,000 signatures with a goal of 500,000.
