Snoop Dogg is one for the people.

Yesterday night (July 7), the United States Women’s National Soccer Team won their second consecutive World Cup Championship. They were able to defeat the Netherlands with a final score of 2-0. Following their monumental victory, fans in the crowd began shouting “equal pay!” Equal pay is in reference to a report that the women earned $250,000 each for winning the cup. Reportedly, the men’s team would’ve earned $1.1 million each if they secured the same victory.

While on Instagram, Snoop acknowledged the double standard in the sport. He offered his support and explained that the women of the national soccer team should be paid fairly.

“Sorry-ass f ** men from the US soccer team ain’t ever won shit, ain’t gonna ever win shit, can’t even get out of the f ** first round,” he said. “Pay them ladies man, pay them girls what they’re worth. The women should be getting $500,000 per athlete. Them girls won four World Cups, and $90,000? Man, please.”

As per CNN, the 2018 Men’s World Cup prize money totaled $400 million, in comparison to the women in the 2019 World Cup Tournament who received a total of $30 million. Although the prize money will double to $60 million for the 2023 World Cup, U.S. midfielder Megan Rapinoe still says there is more to be done.

“It certainly is not fair,” Rapinoe said during a press conference. “We should double it now and then use that number to double it or quadruple it for the next time.”

Snoop has been very vocal about his love for sports. Recently, he made a hilarious pitch to recruit Kawhi Leonard to the Los Angeles Lakers. “Kawhi, Kawhi/Tell me that you’ll be a Laker/Kawhi, Kawhi, come back to L.A.,” Snoop sings in the clip. “Kawhi, Kawhi/Tell me that you’ll be a Laker/Kawhi, Kawhi, come back to L.A./Don’t do Drake that way/Kawhi, Kawhi/You should sign back with them Lakers,” he spits.
