Chance The Rapper and his family have a reason to smile.
Last night (June 27), Chance shared with fans that his Aunt Toni found a perfect match for a kidney donor. “I know I’m supposed to be promoting this preorder but. Today my auntie Toni found a perfect match kidney donor and I just gotta say I serve a promise keeping God THANK YOU JESUS,” Chance wrote on Twitter.
Last month, Chance shared with fans that he is running out of options. He turned to social media and asked those who are willing to see if they might be a match for his aunt. He also explained the draining and emotional process of being waitlisted for years. In a follow-up tweet, he stated that a simple prayer goes a long way.
“I really need help,” he wrote. “My Auntie Toni is one of the strongest forces in my life, and she is in dire need of a #kidney. We have exhausted all options and have been wait listed for years. My family believes in the power of prayer and we give this problem up to God.”
Prior to the exciting news, Chance has been doing his best to stay busy. Earlier this month, while on a date with his wife at Chicago’s Laugh Factory, Chance took a whack at stand-up comedy. His jokes seemed to be resonating with the crowd as they were heard laughing during his short set.
On the music front, the Chi-town rapper teamed up with YBN Cordae for a new track “Bad Idea.” In addition to that, Chance tapped TisaKorean for his track “Groceries,” which is set to be featured on his forthcoming album. The upcoming LP is slated to drop next month.
